We are glad you are interested in the 2024 College of Business Alternative Spring Break. This past year, six CoB students along with one community learning partner traveled to Denver, Colorado to volunteer with the Denver Rescue Mission

This trip included some downtime to explore the area and met up with alumni from the JMU Denver Alumni Chapter. This trip cost $150 per person
as the College of Business took care of all transportation costs (vehicle rental/flights).

Applications have not yet opened, but the dates of the trip will be Saturday, March 9 through Saturday, March 16, which is over Spring Break. Last year, the cost per person was $150. If you sign up to be a group leader, it is free. There are only four total spots (including 2 leaders and 1 community partner) available due to group size requirements at the Denver Rescue Mission and travel arrangements.

Alternative Spring Break (ASB) leader applications are accepted in mid-to-late October. ASB leaders participate in a training retreat over MLK Weekend and in weekly 90-minute workshops throughout the spring semester. It’s a lot of work, a serious responsibility, and one of the best things you’ll ever do! Keep an eye on our website for the application to go live or follow us on Instagram (@jmucevc) or Facebook (JMU Community Engagement & Volunteer Center), and we’ll be sure to notify you when that option is available.

If you have any questions, you can contact either Elijah Dale or Sydney Cave who group leaders were last year.

We hope we can continue the trip to Denver Colorado during the 2024 Spring Break.
