Application for Admission

BSN Admission Information is found at: https://nursing.jmu.edu/bsn/admission.html.

In the application, you will be asked to write a 500-word/3000 character limit essay and provide the following information: JMU student identification number, and grades for courses as listed on your transcripts (JMU and non-JMU as applicable).

In addition, you will be asked to submit verification of work experience and community service if applicable.  (Use only the verification form on the BSN website linked above).  It is important that you answer each question following the essay in order after your application is otherwise completed, because reverse navigating will result in uploads being removed.  In the event you reverse navigate in the application and uploads are removed, you MUST re-upload prior to submitting your application.

Disclaimers:  Students admitted to the BSN program must complete and pass a criminal background check and drug screening to enter into the program. To practice as a Registered Nurse, graduates are required to pass the NCLEX-RN licensing examination. State Boards of Nursing may refuse to admit a candidate to a licensing exam or refuse to issue a license to any applicant with certain criminal convictions. Students are advised to contact their preferred State Board of Nursing for more detailed information.  If the entered responses do not meet the application requirements, the application will be terminated.  Only fully completed applications will be considered. Applicants may only submit one application. Applicants may save their application and submit it at a later date.
